Adventure & Outdoor Activities in Ghana
Canopy walks, zip lines, mountain hikes and waterfall rappels across Ghana's highlands and rainforests.
Ghana rewards active travellers. Swing above rainforest canopy at Kakum and Amedzofe, glide over Volta valleys on zip lines, climb Ghana's highest peaks and cool off in waterfall plunge pools.
Amedzofe's canopy walkway takes 250 steps up to a forest suspension bridge with a waterfall below and a zip line that carries you toward Biakpa. It's one of the Volta highlands' most complete outdoor experiences.
Kakum's famous canopy bridges suspend you 30m above the rainforest, while the Kpando Lake Mountain Zipline gives panoramic views over Lake Volta. For hikers, Mount Afadja and the Wli upper falls are classic challenges.
Most adventure sites are community-run or small operations. Arrive early, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water — the guides are friendly and the stories along the trail are half the experience.
